Finally a Pool!

So two weeks ago I thought it would be fun to get the kids a pool for us to use and keep cool.  The day we brought it home it was close to nap time so I told the kids "Hey let's just go fill it up with water so that it can warm up by the time we use it."  So we hauled the pool to the backyard and i went around to the side to turn the water on and the next thing you know Cayden comes running around the house the same time the neighbors are too and he's butt naked!!!  They were laughing pretty hard as I hurried to get him in his swim suit!!!  Needless to say it is a great ten dollar investment!!!
It funny Blake just kind of dabbles his toes in and watches Cayden!!

Summer Fun

This was the first warm day in June and Cayden took advantage of having some fun.  It started out with him spilling a whole 2 gallon jug of bubble mix in the garage.  I came out to check on him and found the mess.  When I asked him what he was thinking.....he said in his sweet voice I was just trying to wash my spider man!  How could  you be mad at that!!  He also spilled it all over his tractor...as he was filling it up with gas!!!  If you've ever tried to clean up bubbles...it's not a fun job!!!  So once the hose was out he had to bring out the goggles and run threw it!  He had a great time!  And i forgot all about why i was steaming!!

Lost Camera!

Well 2 years back we lost our small camera and a year later decided to replace it.  Well this summer my mom found it at the cabin tucked in to the sides of a chair.  These are some pictures from it, It's so funny to look at them because Blake is now this age and wearing the cloths that Cayden has on!  I was so excited to finally have found our camera unfortunately I had just thrown away the charger to this camera about 3 months ago.  So I had to order a new one.  But I love having it back and having these fun memories to reflect on!!

Sweet Sleepers

So for nap time we all sleep on my bed!  The kids love it and if I'm tired I also get a chance to snuggle up with them!  As you can see Cayden loves to be touching Blake!  I tried to move his arm but he looked at me and said "No I want to hold his hand!"  So cute that Brotherly Love!!

Shower for Shelly

A couple of weeks ago we had a shower for my friend Shelly!  Shelly is due July 11th, but I have a feeling she's going to have the baby the week of july 4th!!  I also recently took some maternity photos of her...if she gives me permission I may post a couple of them!  Congrats Shelly!

Waterfalls!

So we enjoyed the falls so much we decided to take the boys back!  They loved it!  Cayden had to put his feet in and also throw as many rocks in as he could.  We also saw this huge turtle there too...Cayden said it was sleeping!   Luckily I think this is the first family photo we all at least looking at the camera!!

We had a open house for Justin's cousin Noah over the weekend.  And as you can see Cayden and Blake had a great time playing with Isaac and also Grandpa Bob!

Erica's Wedding Reception

Over Memorial weekend I traveled to Iowa to celebrate Erica's Wedding.  It was a great time!  It was fun to catch up with everyone and listen to the band The Dweebs play.  Erica got married in Mexico in April!  Congrats to Erica and Best wishes!

Movies and Book Reviews!

Book Review:  My Friend Leonard  By James Frey
Great Book!  I read it in two days!  If you've read his first book A Million Little Pieces you'll also enjoy this one!  It continues his story after getting out of jail and rehab.  it was interesting to see the thoughts that he's character goes through.

Movie Review:  August Rush
I enjoyed this movie!  It had great music and a cute story.  Justin of course did not make it through  it, but I'd recommend it!

The Business Of Being Born
This was a documentary about births and our hospitals.  I thought it was a great documentary.  It was cool to see all the different options that are out there and just puts a whole new prospective on things.  I would definitely recommend seeing this if your going to be giving birth.  I think you can actually watch the movie on the website.  I thought it was a great video for women to watch just to see other options out there.  Unfortunately for me that's not the case.  Oh well!

Baseball Time

Cayden Is really into playing baseball right now!  That's what he wants to do when were out side.  The picture of him is doing a booger ball....? (it's from some baseball movie that he's into watching right now!)  he thinks it's so funny!  And Blake just pretty much follows him around!  But he can hit the ball of the T!  He's Pretty proud of it...he usually starts clapping once he hits it!  He's so Funny!

Daddy's Home!

This is what happens every night Justin comes home.  Both boys jump in the car and Blake just giggles and waves to me!  They think it's so fun to pull the car into the garage!  It's a nightly ritual!

Date Night

Justin and I were able to take our first real date night in quite awhile.  We were lucky to have Grandma Cathy come and watch the boys.  We were only gone 3 hours but it was nice to get away!  I didn't have to share my dinner with anyone and we actually got to have a conversation with out Cayden asking "What did you say?".   We found this great state park only ten minutes from our house that has this waterfall!  It was a great hike and sure fun to get out.  Hopefully will be able to get out more.  Were hoping the Narnia movie can be our next date.....the first one was the last movie we both saw together in the theater!  So it's been awhile!

Using the Spoon!

A Couple of weeks ago we decided to let Blake try and use the spoon to feed himself!  Let's say he loved it!!  I was excited also just not about the mess!!  Kids under 2 shouldn't wear white shirts at all...they get too stained....as you see here!  But he loves to eat his yogurt and cereal now with his spoon!

Book Review: Shattered Dreams

by: Irene Spencer
I just finished reading this book on Polygamy.  It was a great book and maybe I say that because I'm really interested in them right now.  This book took place thru the 50's -70's and it amazes me that this people can live like this.  The lady in the book talks about how jealousy is a big deal among all the wives and if you read this book you'll see that they get to see him maybe three days a month.   By the end of the book he has over 8 wives and 56 children!  I highly recommend reading this.  I am going to be reading another book on Polygamy so I'll let you know how that one is.
