LIghts????

So my renting lights experience wasn't what I thought it was going to be.  I thought it was going to be so easy and that I was going to get to take all these cool shoots that I wanted to try out.  Yeah that was not the case.  I thought that I was going to be able to set up these lights and start shooting.....nope!  It took me all friday night and sat morning to get my camera and lights adjusted so I could at least see what I was taking a picture of.  Here are some examples of what they looked like...plus they were blurry.

Then it finally resorted to me taking pictures of Elmo!!!   Yeah it was pretty fun!  I had to keep adjusting my camera settings to fine the one that would work and Cayden did not want to sit that long, so Elmo became my model!
And poor Elsa....I had so many plans for pictures with Elsa that we weren't able to get to because I still didn't have the lights working.  I had even bought these great hats and a tutu to put her in...and totally forgot to use them.  Oh well I'll have to do it another time. 

So yeah my weekend with the lights did not go as planned.  But it was still fun to try and I did get some good photos even though it took me forever to figure this stuff out.  I'll post some of those photos here the next time I get a chance too!

Family Photo

Thought we could use and updated Family Picture.  Even though this is from November!  Why is it that you take so many pictures of your kids and none of all of you with them.  Honestly this is most updated family photo we have...I don't think we took one at xmas.  And I can't remember the last time I had my picture with the boys!  I need to get on that!  

painting??

I took my chance and a paint craft with the boys.  Surprisingly it went smooth!  We painted there hands and feet and made V-day cards for the grandparents!  They loved it and Cayden thought it was so cool to paint Blake's feet, as you can see he even did the top of the feet and legs!!!

Stitches!!

The joys of having boys is we have lots of accidents!!   In Feb Blake was seen for his first stitches!!  And i'm not even sure how it really happened but he's a tough one!  Now that each of them have had stitches...I'm hoping the broken bones don't come next...I'm not sure how I'll handle that!   

Reading Time!!

Here my boys are reading!!  Of course I love to see them read to each other!!!   Cayden actually reads the story to Blake and it's so fun to hear him retell it!!

This Weekend!!

I'm getting so excited for this weekend as I'm going to be renting some photography equipment!  

I've been wanting to do this for sometime now.  It will be so fun to play around with lighting and backdrops!  I just hope I know what I'm doing....but it will be fun to play and try some different shots.  Hopefully this will give me a chance to get some pictures of my boys as well!  I have such a hard time getting them together for a picture.

I have 4 photo shoots already planned for this weekend to experiment with!  Mostly babies!  

I'm getting really excited to start getting a little more involved with my photography!  I joined a photography club and will be going to a one-day seminar in April.  I just have so much to learn and wish I could learn it all now!  I need to find a someone to mentor me so that i can learn more....I always have so many questions and no where to turn!  

So wish me luck and I'll post pictures once I get them done!  

30 books in a year???

So if you know me you know that I love to READ!  If I could do one things everyday it would be to have time to myself to read!  At the end of the year last year Justin and I were talking about how many books I thought I had read that year....and I said maybe 20 and then I thought about it I probably read way more then that because just in December I read 5!  So I thought it would be fun to keep track of the books that I read this year.  My goal is at least 30!  So far I've read six and I'm half way through my 7th!   I'm aiming to read 1 book a week!  It's hard to find the time but I read a lot at night after the kids go to bed and if there watching a movie I will usually read then!  

 

My list of books I want to read is a couple pages long and growing!  Someday probably when the kids are gone....I want to have a Library in my house!  I can't wait to read all day!!   Justin does not understand this love I have for reading.....I think he's read one book since I've known him and it probably took him 2 years to read it!!   I'm still going to work on him....I need to find that one book that will captivate him!!  

So far this year I've read 2 great Karen Kingsbury books!  She is my Favorite Author, I do have all her books and usually buy them the day they come out!  I can't remember the other ones I've read, they were just ok.  I'm reading a great one right now by another Christian Author...But my minds blanking on the author!  (As you can see I read them so fast I don't even bother to look at the titles anymore!)   

So if you ever want a good book to read let me know.....Also I love suggestions!

Rural Route 1 Popcorn!

We are huge Popcorn fans in this household!  Sunday night dinner for Justin and I is always popcorn!  We have a favorite popcorn and we use to be able to buy it when we lived in Milwaukee but I can't find it anywhere around here so we've taken to ordering it through the mail!  Since we go through it so fast we order a 25 pound bag of it!!  I was so surprised when we got it and how much popcorn it had!   But I bet it only will last us a though half of the year!   The boys also love popcorn and Blake usually wakes up from his nap everyday and the first thing that comes out of his mouth is Popcorn???  They both love to help make it as we use a Whirly pop....(Were on our second....That's how much we make popcorn!)  

So if you get a chance I definitely recommend this brand!!! 

Snow Ice Cream!

Here we are making Snow Ice Cream....Yes we use snow to make ice cream and it's just as good if not better!  The boys loved it and it's fun to make different flavors!!  We learned how to do this when we've gone to Fort Wilderness every winter!  It's now a cabin favorite!  

DANGEROUS.....He's going to be my little dare devil!  He even knows how to start the snowmobile on his own.....SCAREY!!
